So my first few months as a working girl has been really..hectic (obviously). I’m super thankful that I still have my weekends to do the things I love.. so when I got invited to do makeup, I couldn’t say no! <3

image

I got to work with Alpha again! I loooove her face. I know that sounds weird.. but seriously, I find her so pretty! This time I made her overall look even more dramatic :)

It’s the second time I’ve worked with Rhojean, but I didn’t do her makeup the first time. I kept her look simple because she had such a bright dress on and I wanted her cute features to be highlighted:)

Anne was the only one to wear lingerie. They had a pin-up peg in mind so I kept her face relatively simple and clean with more defined contouring compared with the other models. :)

Graaaabeeee Anne so haaat :”>

It was Christine's first time to model so I gave her an easy look to pull off - smokey eyes. She does not have eye bags. Those lines under her eyes are like dimples. They only appear when she squints. I'm so jelly!!! Plus, she has super long legs. Fabulous.

I wish I had a group picture to show you.. but my hair is in its awkward stage of being too-long-to-be-short-but-too-short-to-be-long and I really don’t like how my photos turn out AHAHA

Feel free to message me if you need a makeup artist/all-around assistant during the weekends!Hehehe:>

Test Shoot: Iris Maligat

I haven’t been a photographer for shoots in a while.. so when Iris asked to collab, as a make-up artist and photographer, I felt jitters. I wasn’t sure I could do it - the photographer part

I felt rusty. Real rusty.

image

I know I’ve done runway, but this is different. Conceptual shoots need more direction, more creativity, need a theme or a story so that everything composing the shots can speak for themselves. I haven’t appreciated conceptual shoots for what they truly are until recently. Now I don’t do conceptuals out of fear that I won’t do one a fair amount of justice.

imageimage

I’ve actually done a shoot with her before, for Yuki. The makeup I did was so bad pa that time. HAHAHA. I remember her so well because she was a long person.

image

Funny I said long. She seems more of a “long” than a “tall” adjective. Can’t explain why. She also has an unforgettable, infectious, enormous smile that just lets your guard down and a matching non-intimidating aura about her.

image

What I love though is, despite her gentle charisma, she isn’t a pushover nor is she pushy. She’s so genuine and caring, but also very independent and self-confident. The right kind of self-confident

image

Is it just me or does her face remind of you of Candice Swanepoel too? …..Maybe it’s just the lips?

image

I’ve always been intrigued by faces, facial features, birth marks. They reflect and reveal so much, even for the most stoic people. The perfect subject. The perfect story. Some photographers are just so amazing at capturing that. Without the pretense of fancy outfits or make-up.

These last two photos are more her than any of the photos you’ve seen above. This is Iris.

Ghost Dream : A Collection by Beverly Moon

image

Earlier in the month, I was invited to do make-up for Bev's newest 5 piece collection. As you’ve probably read in an earlier post, I was ecstatic to see how the photos turn out.

image

The pegs had a flighty & mystical yet raw & earthy feel to them. It was really inspiring for me, as a make-up artist, to experiment for this shoot. Add to that the quirky & unconventional creations of the designer, Bev, and the larger-than-life personality & work ethic of photographer, Patrick. Everything about the shoot was thought-provoking & cultivated.

image

I did hair & makeup for Mafia and Angelique throughout the shoot.

image

Angelique is such a pretty, young girl. I don’t mean that out of inadequacy of adjectives to describe her. She is exactly that. Her reserved, ladylike character is made even more interesting by her charming, awkward innocence and light, soft features.

image

There’s just something so entrancing about Mafia (aside from her magnetic performance hihi). Physically, she reminds me of Emmy Rossum. A more offbeat version. She’s nothing short of interesting - from her hair down to her toes. She just naturally radiates eccentricity. She’s the perfect muse for the collection, I must say. :)

image

Ishii did Hannah's make-up while I did her hair for this outfit. Hannah's a very sweet and energetic soul. Many easily misunderstand and equate her enthusiasm and zest for living as wildness. She just really loves living. They could actually learn a lot from her outlook. The acceptance of the transience of life and absence of self-restraint can be very empowering.

She had also been invited to model for Joco’s show afterward. We went there together (via Patrick - THANK YOU SUPER) so I got to know everything about her on that day alone. Teehee.

(Some images are screen caps from the video. I wasn’t able to take bts shots.)

I really enjoyed this one! I love how the muses absolutely fit the whole feel of the collection. Looking forward to more shoots with these creative personalities!!! <333

Elevate, Escalate (December 1, 2012)

Last Saturday (12/01/2012), I was invited by Joco Comendador to do make-up for the event’s fashion show. He collaborated with four (or five I think?) designers for the event. PFW ang peg! :>

image

Prior to that show, I had also been invited to do make-up for a shoot. I’m totes excited to see the shots for that one! I’d love to do another shoot inspired by the theme… but I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s just stick with Joco’s event for this post hihi

image

Joco released his new collection of neon green/purple/black shoes inspired by Poison Ivy and Photosynthesis. The overall hair and makeup peg took his shoes as inspiration with green lids, violet lips and sleek hair.

image

(Photo taken from Jason Patricio)

I wasn’t able to take photos as I got super busy the entire day. :( I stole the photos from Tricia De Ocampo <3 Tihihi

image

I did the makeup for Andie and Hannah for that night. Since my lip shade was darker than the other MUAs, I balanced out the face with tame green lids just for a hint of color and shimmer. I remembered a bit too late that Darren(leftmost), the stylist, had prepared masks that actually covered the lips. :)) ENEWEI.

PLUGGING! Jason(rightmost) is my new-found favorite designer! I’m excited to see what he comes up with in the future. I absolutely looove his aesthetic. Check his pieces out in his blog.

image

I was actually assigned more on grooming (or I think the more accurate word is powdering) the male models for that night. They pretty much looked perfect without my noob powdering/contouring/man-hairstyling skillz so…idk

They probably just sweat it off or something anyway. HAHA.

image

I also did Raiza's ponytail *slow clap* (because ponytails are definitely an achievement!!! lelz) She's actually my gradeschool and highschool batchmate (CSA foreverrr hahaha) :)

Pardon my manang-ness with my hair bun and oversized printed shirt. I tend to really let go with my outfit during shoots because I know how hectic it can get. If I could go to shoots in pajamas instead, that’s probably what I’d really do. :)) (unless we’re shooting in a mall in broad daylight..that’s a different story)

image

Sadly, I had to go before the girls walked. :( I didn’t get to see the show. I left just moments after the male models walked for Bletch’s designs.

image

Jason and Jandra! :) Remember Jandra? I’ve worked with him as a hairstylist twice already. He had an amazing collection also! :)

I’m sure Joco will release photos for public consumption soon, so just watch out for those!:)

Thank you for the invite to be a MUA (+ the free food and drinks hihihi). It was nice to have met more amazing talents!! <3
