October 27, 2011 - SMDC Presents Chris Diaz, Eric De Los Santos & Lizanne Cua

What I wore (3rd drawing)

View my PFW day 2 and day 3 experience!:)

I was surprised they held the event at the SMDC Grand Showroom. I’ve been there before, to view the rooms, and I found the space nice. It’s simple, but modern. The lighting and interior design are very flattering in each room.

Because of that, I had formed high expectations for the show. I was expecting interesting, unusual and breathtaking. (especially after seeing Michael Cinco’s show!)

When I got there, I was pretty psyched! The stage did look unusual. There was free food, courtesy of Hizon’s, plus they had couches everywhere, so attendees could sit comfortably while eating and waiting for the show.

I was just worried that the chairs facing the runway were too little for such a big crowd. True enough, they weren’t enough for the huge crowd, and many had to stand the whole time.

By 7:45pm, the ushers in red dresses allowed us to sit on the chairs. I, once again, tried my luck to stand at the platform in front of the runway, along with the media and official photographers. Luckily, there were too many people that the security could not be strict with the people standing, and I got to save my spot on the platform. XD

The view from the platform

Sarah Meier opened the show.

First up is Chris Diaz.

Things got a bit odd when Pauline Prieto started. It was so disorienting to see that she came from the back left, then circled around the stage, then down the runway again, and then back.

After a few runs, I got a hang of the choreography, so I was able to time the photos better.

I like the beadwork and the prints. <3

Next is Lizanne Cua.

Her choreography wasn’t too unusual, and so it was easier to time the shots.

I like their hair & makeup!:)

Last is Eric De Los Santos.

Marina Benipayo started the show by gracing the stairs.

Soon enough, the other models came down the stairs also. I felt bad for them. The stairs had loooots of steps. Haha.

I like the leather + flow of his pieces. :)

End of show.

Anne Curtis appears *u*

Miss SMDC? :o

What can I sayyy.. The choreography or staging was disorienting. It was pretty confusing to look at the models circle the stage. They seemed to get lost sometimes, and would walk at the same time on the runway. I should give the organizers props for being unpredictable and making full use of the interesting space though.

The lighting was very uneven. It was very white and bright in some sections, then really dark for the rest of the areas. The lighting was too white in the one section that we could actually see the blemishes of the models. I had to soften the lighting in Photoshop to lessen pores etc. I would’ve liked it better if the lighting was a bit more incandescent and soft, like in the runways of SMX, because they flatter the models better.

After seeing this show, I now really appreciate the usual setup in SMX. :s

Hullo Icabebeeeee <3 You so gondo foreverrrrrrrrrrr <3 Like your ate! :”> Hhihihi :>

Stay tuned for my day 6 experience! :)

October 25, 2011 - Premiere Collection

What I wore on Day 3 (2nd drawing)

*My pants are actually black haha*

I felt so disappointed with the quality of my photos from day 2, so I changed my lens to an 18-200mm. I also brought a monopod so that I wouldn’t easily get tired of carrying my camera while shooting. (which explains why I looked like a samurai bwahahahaha)

I also felt lazy to dress-up since it actually wouldn’t matter, so I dressed down and wore flats. Harhar. XD

I was looking forward to this show because of Veejay Floresca. I found out about him from the Grand Allure collection 2 years ago. I’ve been stalking his style ever since. *u*

After watching Michael Cinco, this show seemed pretty chill. It had the standard setup and the standard lighting that I seemed to see in most fashion shows. I get why it’s the usual setup though. The lighting is super flattering and even all throughout, so it’s easy to take photos, no matter what part of the runway. The layout allows you to see other details of the pieces because there’s not too much distracting you from the model.

Anyway, on to the show!

First up is Derick Hibaler.

Absolutely love his menswear! <3 I even want to buy some for myself hihi.

Next is Melchor Guinto.

Next is Russell Villafuerte.

I love those shoes! <3333

Next is Ulysses King.

I love that he had such interesting accessories like those bags! Wantt.

Last is Veejay Floresca! <3

I love these. So. Much. They’re absolutely adorable paired with the toughness and geometry in his pieces. <3

Gaaaaaaaaahhhhh <3 Now you know why I love his style! :)

So, it’s the end of day 3. I took a break during day 4. Watch out for my day 5 experience! :Db
